Queen City Electric Railway Company officially began in early 1891 under company president Russell B. Harrison. During its short life in Marion, Indiana, the company competed with two other local rail companies. The son of President Benjamin Harrison, Harrison was a businessman, politician, and lawyer. A native of Ohio, Harrison moved to Montana in 1878, where he ran the U.S. Assay Office; invested in land, railroads, cattle, and mining enterprises; and bought the HELENA DAILY JOURNAL in 1890. During his father's presidency he was involved in a libel suit brought by John Schuyler Crosby.
